Please note: Scheduling an appointment allows us to prepare for your visit, but it does not necessarily mean you can wait while your bike is being repaired. In some cases, small repairs can be completed while you wait. If we don’t have the required parts in stock, they will need to be ordered, which usually means they will arrive the next day.

  • What types of bikes do you repair?

    We accept all brands and types of bikesā€”thereā€™s no requirement for the bike to be purchased from us to qualify for repairs. Our goal is to get everyone back on the road as quickly as possible, and weā€™ll do everything in our power to make that happen.
    Unfortunately, there are some repairs we canā€™t perform due to the unavailability of specific parts. Certain bike brands use proprietary components that arenā€™t freely available on the market. In such cases, we wonā€™t be able to carry out the repair but will always try to find a suitable alternative solution.

  • Will my bike be ready the same day?

    Sometimes, yes. If we have the required parts in stock and thereā€™s time in our schedule, weā€™ll notify you the same day when your bike is ready for pickup. For instance, if you need a new wheel, Wielenvlechter.nl, part of Amstelfietsen, hand-builds all necessary bike wheels. This process takes time and effort but guarantees a high-quality wheel that will last for years.

  • Are the prices in the appointment planner fixed prices?

    No, the prices listed in the appointment planner are estimates based on average repair costs and exclude parts. For example, replacing a rear fender on a traditional Dutch bike is much simpler than replacing one on an e-bike, where wiring often runs through the fender.   • What if the repair turns out to be more expensive?

    At Amstelfietsen, youā€™ll always know what to expect. However, in some cases, the repair may turn out to be more expensive than initially planned. This is because we canā€™t fully assess the extent of the problem until we start working on your bike. But donā€™t worry! If the repair exceeds the original estimate by more than ā‚¬10, weā€™ll always contact you to discuss the additional costs. Canā€™t take our call? Weā€™ll send you a WhatsApp or email and wait for your response.

  • How will I know when my bike is ready?

    When you drop off your bike, weā€™ll ask how you prefer to be contacted. We can notify you via a phone call, WhatsApp, or email.

  • My type of repair isnā€™t listed in the planner!

    Weā€™re sorry about that! If your desired repair isnā€™t in the list, simply select ā€œOtherā€ when booking. When you drop off your bike, weā€™ll go over the repairs with you and discuss the costs. If itā€™s a common repair, weā€™ll add it to the appointment planner for future customers.

  • What repairs donā€™t you perform?

    We handle almost all types of repairs, but there are a few exceptions:
    We do not perform repairs if the bike would still be unsafe to ride after completion (e.g., cracked frames, broken hubs, or rims).
    We donā€™t weld frames, forks, or other bike parts.
    We do not repair or rebuild batteries or motors due to safety concerns and the risk of fire.
    We will not repair bikes that are reported stolen or if we have reason to suspect they are stolen.

  • I canā€™t pick up my bikeā€”what now?

    No problem! You can leave your bike with us for up to three days after we notify you itā€™s ready for pickup, free of charge. After three days, without a valid reason, weā€™ll charge ā‚¬5 per day for storage.
    Unfortunately, it happens too often that customers drop off their bikes and then go on vacation for three weeks. While we hope you enjoy your holiday, we are not a bike storage facility. šŸ˜‰
